The veja story: Shoes you want to have.

Veja, a French company born 17 years ago, takes its name from the Brazilian word meaning “look.” From the start, they’ve focused on the well-being of both the people and places involved in shoe production. They’re among the pioneers working to change how things are done in the fashion industry. Veja creates shoes with respect for workers, the environment, and social issues in the areas where their shoes are made.

I’ve owned two pairs of Veja shoes. Though I tend to wear shoes out quickly, the first pair lasted a solid year, which I consider a good score. My second pair is still holding up, and I’ll definitely be purchasing a third and fourth. They’re comfortable, and most importantly, I know that when I buy from Veja, I’m supporting people behind the brand, not just the name.
